Katy Sanford, RN

Katy Sanford
Nursing, Seattle

Katy comes to SRM with a breadth of experience in healthcare. Most recently she worked as a registered nurse in the Childbirth Center at Northwest Hospital in North Seattle, where she provided intensive care for women in labor as well as postpartum care. She developed a special interest in promoting lactation and served on a team that provided lactation education and support to patients. Katy received her B.A. from Whitman College in 2002, with a major in psychology and a minor in Education. As a student she worked in the college health center, learning first-hand about the health problems of college students. Along with her usual summer job of teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding, she worked as a Patient Services Representative at the University of Washington. Post-college Katy worked at Seattle Children's Hospital as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist and then as a Patient Care Coordinator in the Pulmonary Clinic. She did double duty during this period, working during the day and taking nursing prerequisite courses in the evenings. With the coursework done, she moved to beautiful Oahu, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Hawaii Pacific University.

Katy is excited to join the team at Seattle Reproductive Medicine and further develop her interest in women's healthcare in this exciting part of women's medicine. On a more personal note, Katy enjoys singing, swimming and being outdoors while spending time with family and friends. She is also an avid Husky sports fan!

Katy is looking forward to being part of the SRM team with its dedication to patients and this ever-evolving world of reproductive medicine.
